About Abhi & Upcoming Workshops

Hi and welcome to my art page :)

I'm a self-taught artist and having completed my Masters in Creative Arts & Mental Health I now balance my art alongside life as a doctor in the NHS. Creativity has always been an integral and beautiful part of life for me and because of my interests, my art is often an exploration of spirituality, my cultural origin and mental health.

Ironically although art is a result of my experiences in the material realm inherently it is a product of my seeking beyond the appearance - therefore whether conscious or not, I find it is a portal into my inner-world and thus a spiritual practice. I think this is why I find art to be such a powerful tool as it brings a sense of oneness which means ideas can be better realised and understood by those who may otherwise be unaffected.

My professional and creative paths have always informed one another. Over the past few years, I’ve worked as an arts practitioner with school children from socially diasadvantaged backgrounds or have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), helping to deliver The Hero’s Journey Project with The Caedmon Company across eight schools in Essex. I’ve also volunteered with a community theatre troupe, using performance and visual storytelling to help young people explore emotion and resilience through art.

October Art Workshop

Alongside creating and exhibiting my artwork, I host small-group art workshops that merge creative expression with gentle wellbeing practice. Each session draws from my background in art, medicine, and my deep appreciation for the importance of mental health, blending gentle reflective exercises with creative exploration — no art experience required.

These workshops are not therapy spaces, but rather creative gatherings designed to help you slow down, reconnect with colour, and explore the meanings that emerge through art-making. They are open to anyone curious about creativity as a form of self-expression and mindful connection.

As a Hindu there is a quote from on of our spiritual texts which has always inspired me

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.’
Bhagavad Gita [17.3]

Personally this verse epitomises the infinite power of our beliefs and my ultimate goal is that my art, as an exploration of this idea, inspires its viewers and brings peace and happiness.

I also share updates and new work on Instagram & TikTok @spiritual_.arts follow along for future workshops, art prints, and behind-the-scenes glimpses 🌙
